MineDuels is a free 1v1 Minesweeper game at mineduels.com. This page explains what we collect, why, who else is involved, and how to delete it. The short version: we keep what the game needs to work, we don't show ads, we don't use tracking or analytics, and we don't sell anything about you.
What we collect
If you sign in
- An account ID from Discord or Google. When you sign in with them, they give us an ID for your account so we can recognize you next time. We don't receive your password, and we don't ask for or store your email, contacts or friends list.
- Your profile: the username you choose, your country if you pick one, and your profile picture if you upload one. Pictures are re-saved by our server as a small square image, which also removes hidden photo data such as your phone's GPS location.
- Your ranked results: your rating, how many ranked matches you've played and won, and a history of your ranked matches (opponent, score and rating change).
When you play online (signed in or as a guest)
- Recordings of your rounds. In private matches, quick matches and ranked, we save each round you play: the board, every click and its timing, and how the round ended. These recordings are used as opponents in ranked when nobody is online. Other players then race a replay of your round, shown with your username, country, picture and rating, and clearly labeled as a recording.
- Guests get a random ID stored in their browser and a name like "Guest 4821". Guest rounds are recorded too, under that name.
- Practice games against a bot run entirely in your browser. We don't receive or record them.
To keep the site running and safe
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it.
- Your IP address, briefly, to limit how often requests can be made (to stop spam and attacks), and in our hosting provider's server logs, which we use to fix problems.
- Reports you send about other players, so we can review them.
Who else is involved
- Discord and Google, if you sign in with them. Their own privacy policies apply to your accounts there.
- Railway, which hosts our server and database.
- Google Fonts, which provides the fonts on our pages. Your browser loads them from Google, so Google receives your IP address when you visit.
That's everyone. There are no ad networks, analytics tools or tracking pixels.
How long we keep it
- Your account, profile, results and recordings: until you delete your account.
- Sign-in sessions: 30 days, or until you sign out.
- Guest recordings: these aren't connected to an account, so we keep them to use as ranked opponents.
- Matches in progress are saved while they're played, so a server restart doesn't end them, and removed shortly after they end.
Your choices
- Change your profile (username, country, picture) at any time from your profile on mineduels.com.
- Delete your account from your profile: click your name, then Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, picture, recordings, ranked history and sessions.
- Questions, or want a copy of your data? Email support@mineduels.com.
Children
MineDuels isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also say so on the site.
